How to create new live chat departments

A department represents a business unit in your organization with specific responsibilities. Departments helps you assign incoming visitors to the most suitable agents. You can create multiple departments to group your agents according to their responsibilities.

The Department feature is only available in Chakap's Team and Enterprise Edition. Click here to compare features available on different versions.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Log into your Chakap account.
  2. Go to People –> Departments under Global Settings.
  3. Click Departments and Enable the department feature.
  1. Click New Department button to create a new live chat department.
  2. Enter the Name and the Description to identify the department and then add agent(s) to the department.
  1. Click OK to to save the configuration..

Now you have successfully created a new live chat department and our system will automatically assign incoming chat requests to the most suitable department.
